RYAN PRESTRIDGE has worked in various Matte Painting positions across many different studios. He started at Rhythm and Hues as a Lead Matte Painting TD and then went to MPC as a Senior Environment TD and then as a Lead 3D-Digital Matte Painter. He then went to ReelFX Animation to be a Technical Matte Painter. Currently, he is a Matte Painter at DreamWorks Animation. During his career, Ryan has had the opportunity to work on films such as Django Unchained, X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Boss Baby and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. Ryan's educational experience includes a BFA in Sculpture/Digital Imaging and an MFA in Digital Production Arts. His studio experience has included overseeing and creating matte paintings, environment technical direction on multiple sequences, creating complex digital environments, backgrounds, models and textures. Ryan has over 30 credits to his name for projects including live action features, animated features, live action game cinematics, commercials, television shows, and other venues both in 2D and 3D stereo. Ryan is the current matte painting instructor at Gnomon and has given many matte painting related lectures various universities. When he is not matte painting, he enjoys drawing, going to the gym and experiencing all that California has to offer.
